Māori language week

Kia ora e te whanau,

Nau mai, haere mai ki a wiki o te reo Māori !

Welcome To Māori  language week!

Today I am going to show you a Karakia Tīmatanga  opening prayer. What is a karakia? A karakia  can be described as prayers, blessings, grace or in a more traditional sense – incantations. They are generally used to ensure a favourable outcome to important events and undertakings.

I have  learned that it is difficult to try to say it in māori.

We are learning to write a biography

Malo e lelei  everyone

Today  we had to pick one person and then search for the person when they were born  where they live and when they die.  The person I did was king George Tupou I.

So here is my one for today.

What I know about fractions.

Fractions are about evening them out like when you have a  whole cake then you have to try and make it even for everyone. With fractions  the numbers get higher and harder to solve.

What happened to pompeii?

Today me and the class did a social study work named what happened to Pompeii. We first watched a video of what happened to Pompeii. It was very big and bad. Then we started to type in the answers of what ms Knees gave us to do, and once we were finished we publish it in our blogs. (Here are some more things down there).

PWC financial literacy

Today  there were  some people from the PWC that were teaching us how to save money and to be safe with it. First we had a worm up game there were three chairs  that had  paper that had money .Then we learn how to save money by  using  it for things you need and don’t need. Then we  were thinking about how to trust family, friend and a stranger so when we  are older  we with know  what to do with money . The people from PWC their  names are Nick,George and Elie. Then we had to write down on  a  paper  to  see  what we would say if you or a stranger asked  you for something  that special things  and if  you can trust strangers or your friends.
